The Hisense 100LX 8K Laser TV has been unveiled in China. The company claims its new device is industry-leading, with the 7,680 x 4,320 resolution generating around 33 million pixels. The DLP projector uses Hisense's LPU digital laser technology, previously used in the L9 Laser TV, to deliver a brightly colored image; the device covers 110% of the BT.2020 color gamut, producing 1.07 billion colors. The laser engine also enables the gadget to run more efficiently than other models.
The LPU's wavelength can be adjusted to produce a broader spectrum of colors than more commonly used technology. Plus, the gadget supports Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced formats. Other features of the ultra-short throw laser TV include a variable field of view and lower blue light to make the device eye-friendly. A built-in 4.1.2 channel Harman Kardon speaker system provides an immersive sound experience, compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X.
Hisense announced that the laser TV would have 4GB memory, 128GB storage, and Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. You can also connect devices via NFC and control the gadget with voice commands or air gestures. It is unclear when the Hisense 100LX 8K Laser TV will go on sale in China and how much it will cost. It remains to be seen whether the device will reach other markets.
